You would expect a classy restaurant to know how to listen to complaints. This changed my entire impression of this place. Nothing happened other than someone didn’t care and gave me a disgusting salad to go.Īnd to imply that something happened on the way home is very belittling and irresponsible from management. I order the same salad every week sometimes daily for the last year. She also tried to imply the salad didn’t look like this before I came home. My daughter overheard and was laughing saying “could you just get to the point”□ I was interrupted several times and was told she’s doing her best to help me. I called as a result of receiving a salad that looked like this and the manager seemed very hasty in listening ear to my complaint. Wouldn't be surprised if he gave the chicken breast to the next person to order it when we declined. The same man that belittled us to pay for the food we no longer wanted based on the environment practically chased us out the door saying " here is your food!!!!!" when we paid for our drinks and left. Server was nice, we paid in cash and tipped her for drinks, ready to leave. So you just won't eat tonight? It'll go down the drain, we have to eat the cost." It had hardly been 10 minutes, shocking to believe my grilled chicken could be ready when I saw so many tables without food. He was so extremely rude - asking "Your order is already finished, you can't cancel it. Manager approached us, I told him something came up we were happy to pay for drinks and go. Asked to cancel my order for food and to just pay for my drinks - I didn't want to eat food if that was the quality of cleanliness. Noticed hardly anyone had food, saw more dirty tables full of dishes. I noticed they were understaffed so I tried to look past this. Near the bathroom there were several other tables that seemed to be allocated for piles of dirty dishes. Was seated in bar booth next to table full of dirty dishes. Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I'll happily continue to keep frequenting this place. My toddler ended up getting what was left later when the fresh fruits we'd ordered for her finally ran its course and she was willing to eat a more substantial meal later that night. I had no problem with that! It was so yummy! I couldn't finish the whole thing so I prioritized eating all my scallops while it was fresh and packed the rest to eat later. Instead of costing $18, it came out to $25 instead. It was as yummy as it looked, delicious, and not a single bite was wasted.įor me, the "Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta", but instead of the chicken, I substituted it with scallops. It came out on a bed of wild rice and asparagus. We even had some leftovers!įor my hubby, he ordered their grilled salmon. Couldn't have asked for it to be any better. ![]() We ordered the crab dip with buttered garlic bread to start which was absolutely delicious! The bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I had to take my cell phone off the table so it wouldn't overheat! Regardless, being able to eat outside made me especially comfortable considering there's a bunch of COVID variants floating around, one of which we don't know much about quite yet. Even hot if you were sitting at one of the tables directly in front of it, which we were. They had spacious outdoor seating that was well sheltered from any wind blowing under the roof and large heating pipes overhead that were VERY effectively warm. You'd think for SURE we'd have to eat inside, and at most places, we probably would have needed to! Not here. The temperature had dropped significantly from the heat we were so used to just a month ago. I've never eaten something here and not enjoyed it.īrought my family back here recently to enjoy early dinner and was immediately seated. It can be a little pricy, but I feel like the portions justify it, and the quality of the food items is very good. Art Deco details such as gold leaf, rich marble, and burnished brass give the hotel a dash of luxurious charm. Look closely, and you’ll see it resembles another famous architectural wonder, New York City’s Empire State Building.I've been here a few times and really love the place. After a day of tooling around town, rest your head at the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel, a renovated office building turned contemporary hotel. Dubbed the city of arts and innovation, there are also more than 30 art galleries as well as 24 performing art complexes and 15 museums. If wine is more your style, there are over 45 local wineries in the greater Winston-Salem area. Later, belly-up to a taproom table at Incendiary Brewing Company located in the original coal pit of the historic power plant for R.J. Take a spin through the college which moved from the Raleigh area to Winston-Salem in 1956. Winston-Salem is home to six colleges and universities, most notably Wake Forest University, where Maya Angelou once taught poetry and the ACC’s Demon Deacons play.
